Dear First Christian Church family,

My name is Scott DeLeeuw and most of you know me from church. I am excited to be joining the staff as an Associate Pastor, primarily focused on youth and young adults.

I’m looking forward to joining what God has already been doing at the church and in the community, while adding another needed piece to the mix. I really believe my God-given gifts mesh incredibly well with the mission of FCC, its congregation, and the community we serve.

My background includes 11 years of ministry leadership experience, most of that as the Director of Inner City Ministries and Community Development at Tulare Community Church in central California. While there, I gained experience working with a wide variety of youth from the community. I earned my Masters of Divinity from Western Theological Seminary. I also work part-time for Vista Unified School District as the water polo coach for Rancho Buena Vista High School. In my spare time, I enjoy surfing and spending time with my wife Krystal and our three kids Trevor, Taralyn, and Trent.

A Focus on Youth & Young Adults

My calling and ministry direction will be to gather youth and young adults into faith-based creative communities, with the intent of offering hope, programs and venues that explore what it means to be a follower of Jesus Christ. My goal will be to prepare youth and young adults to shed Gods light on culture by integrating their faith, their gifts, and their passions.

I look forward to talking with each and every one of you and to further explore these possibilities. If you have any questions or thoughts, please don’t hesitate to contact me directly at
